34 Weeks

How your baby's growing:Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

I'm almost into the last month of the pregnancy and I can't believe just how fast it's gone by. Within the next several weeks I'm going to be holding my little one in my arms!! I can't wait. My belly feels as though it's stretched to the max and poor thing, she's just squirmin' around trying to get comfortable...which makes me uncomfortable!! :-) Oh well....those uncomfortable times will soon be over. It's funny, because with Christmas coming up and all, I hear different family members telling me..."I found Heidi something for Christmas." It's hard to believe she'll be here with us.

My baby shower is coming up soon and I'm super excited....actually, I think Brooklyn is more excited than I am. She'll be there for the party. I want her to be a part of all of it and not feel left out. She is just as important as Heidi is and I want to make sure she understands that. So, with that being said....I told her that we have a party coming up to help us get ready for Heidi and that I needed help opening the presents. She flipped out!!! So, yesterday she came up to me and said that she wants to trade babies. I looked at her very strangely trying to figure out just exactly what she was talking about. (for those of you who don't know, she has a babydoll that looks just like a newborn, who she named Shiloh.) So I say, "What do you mean you want to trade babies?" and she said..."You can have Shiloh and when Heidi comes, she'll be my baby!!" How sweet is that?? I have a feeling though that she might change her mind if I take her up on that when Heidi does come!!!
